◆ Recent  Research Trends and Applications of Organic Solar Cells
under Band Gap Control of Organic Semiconductor Materials

Following the commercialization of OLED, organic semiconductors are attracting attention as they can adjust various band gaps according to their molecular structure. In particular, OPV, which uses light and transparent organic semiconductor materials, is attracting great attention as a possible urban solar cell (BIPV) in the era of carbon neutrality. Recently, PCE of up to 20% has been reported due to the development of Y6 type derivatives to be introduced into the active layer of BHJs and research on the device structures.

This lecture introduces the development trends of organic solar cells such as efficiency, stability, transparency according to molecular structure, device structure, and module.
